CGPCC goes for massive 'rethink' before civic polls

The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) seems ready to undergo a merciless surgery in view of the upcoming civic body’s election slated by the end of this year.

It all started with proposing necessary changes in constitution of the district level working committees to make a strong comeback against the ruling BJP Government in the State.

In this series, CGPCC President, Bhupesh Baghel and ClP leader, TS Singhdeo on Tuesday held a meeting with the office-bearers and local leaders of Raipur and Durg wings.

The duo took suggestions from local leaders about the party workers, who are active and are popular among the public, to consider their names while making the district level body. The senior leaders also learnt about the problems encountered in seeking public support.

They urged the party workers to raise people-centric issues and launch agitations to intensify their crusade against the State Government’s ‘repressing’ and ‘dictatorial’ policies.

Sources claimed that the senior party leaders are considering giving posts to the workers, who were honest towards the party and remained active, while strict actions can soon be anticipated against the office-bearers, who remained inactive or sabotaged the party during the last elections.

Notably, on the instructions of Congress party supermo, all the district and State-level committee have been dissolved and now the senior leaders have undertaken the ‘assignment’ of making ‘workable’ working committees on every district level.
