Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel has served a defamation notice to former Chief Minister and Chhattisgarh Janta Congress (Jogi) chief Ajit Jogi for alleging his involvement in a land grab case at the former’s native place.
“The present Chief Minister and the former Chief Minister are feeling insecure with the rising popularity of Congress party in Chhattisgarh and hence, they are both indulging in such acts,” Baghel said while addressing a press conference here at the party’s State headquarters Congress Bhawan on Friday.
While presenting documents before media persons, he clarified that he did not own any land in Kuruddih village.
Baghel said that he had some ancestral land and after the division of the property, the land was handed over to his uncle.
“For avoiding encroachment on that land, my uncle has got it fenced with barbed wire. This land issue has been twice dismissed in the court,” he said.
He further said that the alacrity with which this complaint was examined by officers has hurt him.
“The allegations levelled are too far from reality and are not correct,” Baghel said while adding that he had sent a notice of defamation to Ajit Jogi for levelling baseless charges on him.
