Chhattisgarh, the winner of 8th National Dance Sport Championship organised in Patna will host the 9th National Dance Sport Championship from January 30 to 31 at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in the city.
Interestingly, it is for the first time such a sports event is being conducted in the State. Players from as many as 16 State contingents will be contesting in the Championship.
The event covers Sub-Junior, Junior (Boys and Girls) and Senior (Men and Women) categories.
Dance Sport Association of Chhattisgarh President Yogesh Agrawal held a meeting with the Organising Committee members on Friday for ensuring proper management during the Championship.
Asked about the Chhattisgarh players, a member of the Association said, “Overall 35 State players are participating in the tournament of which around 15 to 16 players were among the winners of the 8th National Sports Championship. We are hopeful of clinching medals this time as well.”
The Association is recognised by All India Dance Sport Federation (AIDSF), World Dance Sport Federation and Asian Dance Sport Federation (ADSF).
