The State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh had endorsed the proposed ‘Chhattisgarh State logistics' Park Policy 2018’ in March this year.
The Cabinet had decided to provide an impetus to the economic growth. There will be rapid development of logistics infrastructure and services, local industries will get better and cheap transport facilities, officials said.
There will be more employment opportunities also and will encourage local investment. The main aim of setting up logistics parks is to have better coordinated train, air and surface transport, landing, unloading and other amenities, they informed.
Moreover, there will be subsidy offered on local capital investment, subsidy on interest on loans, electricity charges subsidy, and land allocation for warehousing, land premium and E.P.F. subsidy.
The logistics Park as per the Industrial Policy 2014-19 will be on 20 to 40 acres of land (50,000 metric ton storage facility). The maximum subsidy will be of Rs 10 crore. The logistics Park on more than 40 acres (Minimum one lakh metric ton storage capacity) will get around Rs 12.50 crore subsidies.
Chhattisgarh has the potential to become a ‘logistics Hub’ for Central India with exports to Asian markets with Singapore, China, Korea and Japan being the focus through the Vizag port, approximately 500 km from Raipur, officials informed.
