The Chhattisgarh Government will be utilising ‘Centralised Project Management Software System’  (CPMS) for automation of Project Monitoring, Controlling and Reporting task for key projects undertaken in the State.

Notably, the Government is investing significantly in the State to build physical Infrastructure — Highways, Bridges, Water & Electrical distribution system etc.

In order to closely monitor and control these major Infrastructure Projects from inception to closure, Government of Chhattisgarh wants to implement Centralised Project Management System.

Chhattisgarh infotech and biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS), is the nodal agency of Department of Information Technology and biotechnology, Government of Chhattisgarh in the State of Chhattisgarh to implement the software based monitoring project.

The Centralised project management software system would be used for monitoring work of major departments and agencies such as Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation (CGRDC), Chhattisgarh State Power Development Corporation ltd (CSPDCl), Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA), Public Works Department (PWD) and Water Resources Department (WRD).

This apart, a Centralised Project Management Unit (CPMU) – Team of consultants would work as an interface between Secretariat and Government Implementing Departments and system integrators to ensure proper monitoring of the project works.

Notably, in June last year, the State Government had announced that Chief Minister Raman Singh would directly monitor the status of various public welfare schemes on the newly developed ‘Chief Minister’s Dashboard’ system using his iPad or the cell phone.

All the key schemes of the Chhattisgarh Government is being made available in the ‘Dashboard System,’ officials stated.

In the first phase of the project, nine key departments mainly Health and Family Welfare, Agriculture, Water Resources, Industry, PWD, Energy, School Education, Horticulture and Women and Child Development Department schemes were included.

The prime objective of the project is to display targets, national average and benchmarking.

Notably, insisting heavily on use of various technology platforms for faster and easier communication, Chief Minister Raman Singh in October 2014 had inaugurated the e-Jandarshan programme from his official residence in Raipur and became the first Chief Minister of any State to do so.

On the occasion, Singh had redressed grievances and heard demands of people from different parts of the State.
