Former BJP ideologue and RSS thinker KN Govindacharya said on Tuesday that if the development is money-centric, the welfare of common man would definitely get rejected.
A State is created to protect those who cannot protect themselves, but in Chhattisgarh unfortunately the Government instead of becoming a tool of change in the hands of poor, defending those who are well off in the name of industrialisation undermining the fact that GDP and growth rate alone cannot be the real measurement scale for development,’’ Govindacharya stated while interacting with media persons here.
Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan chief Govindacharya further said, Rsthe real development will be if every child gets healthy diet including half litre milk, better education, and health care as well as sanitation facilities are made available to all residents.
In State the focus is on making ‘lok lubhavan’ promises rather than having a vision for the right development of the society,’.
Govindacharya on Tuesday evening ahead of the winding up of his three days tour of the State held a lengthy discussion with newsmen and observed, “there is great need for political reforms as the present political system in the country is passing through a critical phase and has virtually lost its relevance in the eyes of poor.’’
He remarked that politics in the present context has become a tool to increase economic condition and social stature of politicians instead of ensuring change in the society or helping the underprivileged.
In this scenario, there is great chance of the country being caught in chaos.
He opined that with a purpose to give a new dimension to the politics, Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan is trying to bring nearly 350 organisations including some splinter political groups together to forge consensus on some common issues affecting the society.
Instead of floating any new political outfit the Andolan will play a catalytic role in ensuring change in the existing political system, Govindacharya said in response to a question whether the Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan will float any separate political organisation as his study leave from the BJP has ended.
