CG witnessed all-round devp in 3 years, claims Baghel

Chhattisgarh has seen many positive changes in the past three years due to the blessings of saints and the contribution of the people, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Friday.

Baghel told reporters at Duddhadhari Math, where he had gone to take blessings on completion of three years in office, said the government had taken initiatives for the welfare and prosperity of all sections.

Be they tribals, farmers, labourers or the business class, the government was concerned about everyone, he said.

The Chhattisgarh government had developed the tribals' traditional Devgudis and Ghotuls. It has hiked the prices of minor forest produce, he said.

For the rural sector, Chhattisgarh was engaged with villagers' economic activities by utilizing locally available resources.

Schemes such as Suraaji Gaon and Godhan Nyay have brought prosperity in villages, Baghel said.

Godhan Nyay Scheme has provided new means of livelihood to self-help groups and landless in villages, he said.

“As per promises made in the Congress election manifesto, we have won the farmers’ hearts with farmer-friendly measures such as loan waiver, irrigation tax waiver and procurement of paddy on Minimum Support Price (MSP)," he said.

“Agriculture in Chhattisgarh is now seen as a profitable business and all the credit goes to this flagship scheme."
