The Central government's decision to procure 60 lakh tonnes of rice from Chhattisgarh will favour the farmers in the current Kharif season, said Chhattisgarh BJP state President Vishnudeo Sai on Saturday.
He asked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to send a thank you letter on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh to the Central government.
Sai said the Central government had decided to procure 495 lakh tonnes in the current Kharif season. Instead of 43.48 lakh tonnes from Chhattisgarh to the central pool, 60 lakh tonnes rice will be procured. This will be 17 lakh tonnes on a higher scale compared to last year.
Now the state government should procure the complete paddy from the farmers so that they are benefitted.
