'Centre committed to bringing back black money stashed abroad'

The Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has intensified the process to bring black money stashed in foreign banks, stated Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot here on Friday.

“The NDA Government is committed to bringing back the black money and check corruption,” he said while addressing a Press conference at New Circuit House here.

Gehlot was in the city as a part of a month-long “Vikas Parv” being observed to mark the successful completion of two years in the office of BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre.

According to the Minister, a SIT has been constituted which is looking into cases involving unaccounted money. Measures within the ambit of law are being taken on this matter, he pointed out.

Gehlot said that after several years of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) rule at the Centre marred with scams, a Government has come to power which cannot be accused of indulging in corruption.

“After a long time since the government led by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a decisive leadership to the country. Even the Opposition cannot accuse us of corruption,” he claimed.

Mentioning the country’s economic growth, he said when Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to power during earlier NDA Government the growth rate was 4 percent which he boosted to 8.4 percent in six years. Unfortunately, then UPA Government came to power and in ten years of their tenure the growth rate slipped to 4.4 percent.

Today again, the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has boosted the growth rate to 7.5 percent in two years. The growth rate clearly indicates the success of this Government, he said.
