A delegation of Chhattisgarh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) on Friday met State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Subrat Sahoo at his office and apprised him of their problems.

The delegation informed the CEO about their need of carrying cash and the limit of carrying only upto Rs 50,000 is creating problems for them.

The delegation members said the staff of traders are stopped and the cash is being seized by the police administration.

At this time of festivals and for expansion of business the traders have to travel to various places carrying cash of more than Rs 10 Lakh, they said.

Responding to the complaint raised by the businessmen the CEO advised the delegation members not to worry and asked them to carry with them the receipt of bank or any other substantial proof of cash.

Notably, in the wake of upcoming polls, police administration is taking action if cash of more than Rs 50,000 is found without any proof of its source whereas action is being taken against businessmen by the Income Tax Department if they are carrying cash of more than Rs 10 Lakh without any proof of its source.
