The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has quashed the orders of Central and State government on forceful retirement of Chhattigarh cadre IAS officer B.l. Agrawal.
After recommendation of Chhattisgarh Government about forceful retirement of the IAS officer on adverse Confidential Report (CR), the Central government had earlier terminated his services.
Against the orders of government of forceful retirement, Agrawal approached CAT, New Delhi. The bench of Justice Pramod Kohli and Justice K.N. Shrivastava of CAT in New Delhi, after hearing the plea of the officer, announced the verdict on Thursday.
It directed the State government to reinstate Agrawal's services. As per the orders of CAT, he would have to be reinstated from the date of the retirement given to him. “His seniority has to be maintained”, the CAT has ruled.
