In a fresh development in table tennis coach-player case, a FIR was registered against Dr Anil Khakhariya under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012. Rajiv Roy, father of the minor girl, has registered the complaint against Dr Khakhariya, Station House Officer, Civil lines, Vijendra Chaturvedi informed.
“The complainant maintained that Dr Khakhariya had released video footage on news channels and also got news published allegedly damaging the character of her daughter which has mentally affected her daughter,” the SHO said. Notably, the reports released by Table Tennis Federation of India , the apex body in India about the sport had vindicated coach and TT player finding nothing worth objecting in the video.
The TTFI Committee had released the report after questioning coach, players and other persons associated with the incident. On the complaint, police booked Dr Khakhariya under Sections 506 of IPC, Sections 11/5 and 23/1 of POCSO Act. Police said that Dr Khakhariya will be called for questioning in the case.
