Dr Nitin M. Nagarkar, Director and CEO of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, on Wednesday warned that failure to adhere to the Covid appropriate conduct can lead to a third wave of Covid-19. He said in a statement: “After almost two months of upsurge, now the numbers of Covid cases are on a decline. People need to strictly follow Covid appropriate behaviour, failing which the third wave is a real possibility." Dr Nagarkar said the second wave was very severe and affected Chhattisgarh badly.“From urban areas, it spread to smaller towns and rural areas where there were not strict restrictions during the lockdown. Besides, the movement of migrants from cities to villages contributed to the surge in rural areas,” he said.
