nTime limit for end of election campaign is slightly different in the urban bodies’ polls from that of the assembly and general elections.
Hence, candidates with special permission can continue campaigning for the urban bodies’ polls till midnight (12am) of Thursday.
Official sources informed that special permission would be granted by authorized officer for use of loudspeakers till 10 p.m. and the candidates could thereafter campaign without the use of it till 12 in midnight.
Public campaign on December 20 and on the polling day December 21 would be completely prohibited, official sources said. This would be enforced in all the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat areas of the state, they added.
In a letter to all the district collectors the State Election Commissioner, Thakur Ram Singh had clearly said that the public campaigns on December 20 and on polling day December 21 would completely be prohibited.
