The 30-40 model of Chhattisgarh government is proving to be beneficial for treatment of barren and infertile land under the flagship ‘Narva’ project.
An official communication said the process for construction of 1.67 lakh such models are under underway in state under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) fund.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Rakesh Chaturvedi and Chief Executive Officer CAMPA, V. Shrinivas Rao said the rainwater is collected at square shape pits in 30—40 model. The water thus collected is retained in the soil for long and prepares the nearby land to treat from being infertile.
So far, 1.20 lakh structures have been prepared in forest regions of state and treatment to 4,000 acres of land had been done.
