To mark the World Cancer Day (February 4), a free cancer check-up and counseling camp will be organized in Raipur district's Mother and Child Hospital, Kalibari.
Raipur Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Meera Baghel said on Thursday that many programmes were being run under the Non-Communicable Disease Control Programme in the state.
One of them is on the treatment and prevention of cancer.
Oral cancer is commonly seen in men due to tobacco consumption while more cases related to cancer of the uterus and breast are observed in women.
Cancer screening and counseling camps will help to create awareness about the disease and its treatment, she added.
