Call cops to PHQ only when absolutely necessary: DGP

Published on:

State director general of police (DGP) DM Awasthi on Wednesday instructed senior police officials to call police personnel to the police headquarters (PHQ) only when it is absolutely necessary.

They will continue to work from home until May 3, the DGP said.

In the view of the   lockdown being extended until May 3, the DGP has directed senior officials to avoid unnecessary calling police personnel and other employees to the PHQ.

As per the order issued by DGP, all additional director generals of police and other senior police   officials have been asked to complete important work with the help of their       personal staff.

They have been directed to come to their office only if it is absolutely necessary. Police officials have been instructed to keep their mobile phone on.

The units in the PHQ, which require mandatory presence of officials and other employees, have been     directed to ensure either   minimum presence or        allocation of duty in shifts.

Those directed to reach the office, are requested to reach their workplace      avoiding public transport or crowded places.

The police officials and other employees have been requested to reach their office in personal vehicles.

As a preventive measure, the officials and employees have been asked to wear masks and sanitise their hands before entering the office.

During working hours, all the employees will have to keep their face covered with masks and sanitise their hands with hand-wash, soap and water or sanitizer.

To check further spread of the deadly Covid-19, the DGP has directed all   superintendents of police to suspend all ongoing training  programmes with immediate effect.
