Amid a steep rise in coronavirus positive patients, the Chhattisgarh government has roped in private hospitals to provide Covid treatment to those who can pay.

The Director of Health Services, Neeraj Bansod, has told the Medical Directors of Balco, MMI and Apollo Hospitals to start the Covid treatment.

“Currently you are testing Covid patients. Herby you are ordered to admit the Covid positive patients in your hospitals and start their treatment. The patients will have to bear the cost of the treatment,” Bansod said in the order.

He asked them to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the Chhattisgarh Health and Family Welfare Department and ICMR. If these are overlooked, then action will be taken, Bansod said.

He said in the letter that as the number of Covid patients is increasing, it has become imperative to start its treatment in the private hospitals as well.
