New Director General of Police Ashok Juneja on Friday said a meeting will be held with Odisha Police next week to discuss ways to stop smuggling of drugs into Chhattisgarh.

He told the media that the Chhattisgarh Police will work as per the work plan made after the IGP-SP conference held last month.

"Today I have interacted with the DGP of Odisha regarding smuggling of drugs and we will hold a meeting next Tuesday," Juneja said.

"We will also discuss the Naxalite menace with Odisha Police," he added.

A training session and refresher course will be organized for police personnel to tackle cases related to Information Technology Act, the DGP added.

All Additional Superintendents of Police (ASPs) and City Superintendents of Police (CSPs) will be on the field between 5 and 9 pm to identify crime and accident hotspots, he said.

"We will focus on basic policing and taking action against directors of chit fund companies will be a top priority for us," Juneja said.
