This year too, the Chhattisgarh                government will observe May 25 as ‘Jheeram Shradhanjali Diwas’ in memory of all those killed in Naxalite violence.

All government and semi-government offices will observe a two-minute silence on Wednesday and pay tributes to those who have died.

They will take a pledge to make the state again an island of peace, an official statement said on Tuesday.

On May 25, 2013, senior Congress leaders in the state as well as security personnel were martyred by Maoists in Jheeram Valley.

Similarly, many persons have been killed in Naxalite incidents in recent years, the statement added.
