C’garh surges to become organic state: Baghel

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, citing the benefits of Godhan Nyay Yojana and the conservation of livestock, on Friday said Chhattisgarh was surging ahead to become an organic state.

Baghel was addressing a programme here organized by a media group where he also felicitated 18 Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) for their exemplary work in self-employment.

“The vermicompost and super compost manure prepared at Gauthans have become a better alternative to chemical fertilizer and their promotion has paved the way for Chhattisgarh to become an organic state,” he said.

Expressing concern over the state of women in society, he said that women are still restrained from getting equal rights despite being half of the population. This situation prevailed although many efforts have been made to empower them.

There is always a possibility to succeed if the woman counterpart is taken into confidence and cooperation is sought from them, Baghel said.

Appreciating the works of women self-help groups in Chhattisgarh who contribute to the earning of family after completing household works, Baghel said the society which tried to confine them within the house had to see defeat.

Baghel also lauded the efforts of Swachchhata Didis for their contribution in sanitation during the Covid pandemic.
