The Chhattisgarh State Backward Class Commission on Wednesday asked the authorities to fill the backlog of pending posts for OBCs in government services.
The Commission at a meeting said that across the state separate pre-metric and post-metric hostels should be opened in every division for OBC boy and girl students, a press release said.
The meeting was chaired by Commission Chairman Thaneshwar Sahu. During the meeting, Sahu said in case the application of a person from the backward category is rejected by the Chhattisgarh State ST, SC Research Institute due to spelling error, the latter should clarify in which category the person falls.
The Commission also recommended reserving of 50 percent seats in government-run coaching centers for OBC students.
Cases related to appointment on compassionate grounds were discussed at the meeting.
