C’garh govt loses people’s trust: BJP

The Chhattisgarh government has lost the people's trust as the allegations raised by the BJP have been proven. The proof is the letter written to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel by one of his cabinet ministers, BJP state president Vishnu Deo Sai said on Monday.

Addressing the media, Sai said a constitutional crisis had arisen as a cabinet Minister had raised serious allegations against his own leadership and shed his portfolio. Therefore, now the Chief Minister does not have any moral ground to continue in office, he said.

He said the BJP had been alleging that the 36 promises made in the Congress election manifesto have not been fulfilled. The issue of denial of houses to the poor and anomalies in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) were regularly being brought to public domain.

Finally, the concerned Minister has admitted to failures through his letter, Sai said.

BJP MLA Shivratan Sharma said it was for the first time that a Minister had alleged that the government had sponsored a strike.
