The state public health and family welfare department on Monday declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as a notified infectious disease. A notification issued by the secretary, public health and family welfare department Niharika Barik Singh, said that under the Chhattisgarh Public Health Act, 1949, Section 50, the state government has declared COVID-19 as an infectious disease within the complete geographical boundary of the state as and under Section 51 as a notified infectious diseases. The notification will remain effective until further orders.
