The government on Saturday appointed Ganesh Mishra, Resident Commissioner, Chhattisgarh Bhawan, New Delhi, as the nodal officer to help Amarnath pilgrims from the state stranded in Jammu and Kashmir.
He can be contacted on Helpline 011-4615 6000 and mobile number 99970 60999, an official statement said on Saturday.
The stranded pilgrims or their relatives can contact these numbers for information, it added.
At least 16 people were killed and scores were missing following flash floods triggered by a cloudburst in Ganderbal district in Jammu and Kashmir.
