On Wednesday, a live theatrical performance was staged by the Natania Film Production House, Jagdalpur, based on the play 'Krantiveer Gundadhur'. The research concept and author was M.A. Rahim.

The protagonist ‘Veer Gundadhur’ is the man who led the Bhoomkal rebellion in Bastar in 1910. Under his leadership, the tribals of Bastar revolted against the British.

Performance of the Karma dance troupe from Sarguja district was appreciated by the audiences. Karma festival usually starts from Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Bhado month and continues till the beginning of next rainy season.

This dance is mainly performed by Oraon, Munda, Kanwar, Nagesia, Birhor and Manjhwar tribes.

Saila dance was performed by a dance troupe from Surajpur district of Sarguja division. Saila is a famous traditional folk dance of Chhattisgarh.

It is performed from the month of Ashwin to Phagun Purnima to worship ‘Aadi Dev’.

Karma dance, which is usually performed by Baiga tribe from Bhado Punni to Manghi Punni (August to January), was featured too.

The army of Veer Gundadhur, the hero of the tribal Bhoomkal rebels of Bastar, had stirred the feeling of patriotism among the common people through Madai dance. Young men and women of Dhurva tribe perform the Madai dance.

Kakasad dance was staged by Dandami Madia tribe, who are also known as 'Bison Horn Madia' because of the headdress of bison horn worn by them during the dance.
