Though the election results are yet to be declared, deliberations are going on in the Congress regarding forming the Government and swearing-in. According to a report, the bigwigs of the Congress would remain present in the State capital on the day of vote counting.

Big leaders of the Congress are confident of forming Government in the State. Reasoning is going on in the party forums about selection of legislature party leader. Names of State president of the party Dr Charandas Mahant, national treasurer of the party Motilal Vora and former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi are prominently being discussed for the post.

last time, supporters of Jogi had launched a signature campaign for the leader of the legislature party. However, he could not even become the leader of the opposition. According to some party sources, such efforts could be made this time also.

According to sources, despite of rift with the state Congress leaders, Jogi has been successful in getting tickets to his supporters. His close supporters claim that the number of Jogi supporter leaders would be more among those win the election. As such, Jogi’s claim for the post of chief minister will be strong. However, he has made it clear publicly that the selection of the leader would be made with the consensus of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

As the state president of the party, Dr Charandas Mahant is the natural claimant for the chief minister post. However, with the internal pulling over the leader post, name of senior Congress leader Motilal Vora could be come to the fore as a consensus candidate.

State Congress president Dr Mahant will be in the state capital from December 6. State in-charge BK Hariprasad will reach here on December 7. He will return New Delhi after the declaration of the results on December 9.

According to party cadres, the high command could send observer for the selection of the leader on December 10. The election of the leader of legislature party will be held on December 11 or 12. Some party sources claim that the swearing-in ceremony will be held on December 13. However, it is a coincidence that the birthday of  state Congress president Dr Charandas Mahant falls on December 13.

Hariprasad is continuously maintaining contact with party candidates. The Congress leaders claim that the party would get more than 50 seats this time. Some sources said that even though the party is in short of one or two seats for majority, it would not have any difficulty in bringing majority.
