YK Degan, Executive Director (Works) alongwith SK Jain, GM I/c (M&U) and Uma Raman, GM I/c (Services) visited major shops and departments of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) on Thursday. The visit included Sinter Plants, Ore Handling Plant, Coke Ovens & CCD, Steel Melting Shop 2, RMP 2, Refractory Engg Dept, Plate Mill, Blast Furnaces, Merchant Mill, Wire Rod Mill, Rail & Structural Mill, Blooming & Billet Mill & Roll Turning Shop, Power & Blowing Station, Research & Control lab, Cost Mgmt, Traffic, Maintenance & Utilities Organisation, Instrumentation & Automation, Steel Melting Shop 1, RMP1, Material Recovery Dept, Energy Mgt Dept, Contract Cell & Production, Planning & Control, a BSP press release stated here on Friday.
Interacting with the executives and non-executives during the Plant visit, Degan appreciated the good work done during the past fiscal year 2014-15 and exhorted the team to continue with their efforts to achieve the given targets for the next fiscal year 2015-16. At the same time, Degan expressed concern over the accidents taking place inside Works area, particularly involving regular employees, In case of casual labour, the trend is declining, he said. The Head of Works appealed to employees to inculcate safety as a habit in their everyday work.
