In a bid to bring smile of happiness on the faces of children, Bhilai Steel Plant’s Rail and Structural Mill (RSM) jointly organised a plantation drive by children of Muskaan — a school for mentally challenged children situated here in Sector 2 .

“Each of the 44 children of the school planted a sapling in a pot with his name plate on it,” according to a BSP press release issued here on Friday.

Ajay Kant Bhatt President of the Trividha Trust which runs Muskaan school lauded RSM Collective which joined hands with Muskaan students on Children’s Day in 2014 and has since then continued a novel practice of celebrating  childrens’ birthdays in the campus along with them.

The birthdays are celebrated by sharing of cake, gifts, chocolates and snacks with kids. So far birthdays of 27 children have been celebrated at Muskaan by RSM Collective. It has also organised events like puppet shows and screening of cartoon movies in the school.

Speaking on the occasion A V Kamlakar, GM(RSM) said that we would have heard of plantations by dignitaries but the idea of plantation by children of Muskaan sounds unique.

He said that the society along with teachers who strive to run the school are doing a great service to the mankind.
