Around 30 enthusiastic participants expressed their thoughts, ideas and suggestions on the topics related to environment protection, a BSP Press release issued here on Monday stated.

The theme of World Environment Day this year is “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care”. It was on this concern for the future generation which formed the major emphasis of the inaugural address of the Chief Guest on the occasion H R Choudhury, GM (Personnel). Choudhary spoke about the need to sensitize ourselves about how the intemperate use of the natural resources has jeopardized the future of humanity.

He stressed that humanity is more threatened by the depletion of natural resources by our own hands than by any war or holocaust. Choudhary congratulated the participants for the interest they showed on the issues related to environment. He further elucidated on the dangers we the inhabitants of the Earth are facing due to our wasteful attitude towards utilizing the natural resources. Ms Sonita Kataria, DGM(P-MPS & Rectt.) who was at the helm of organising the event of ‘on the spot essay competition’ expressed her happiness over the participants’ desire to contribute towards the thought process for preserving our environment by writing essays on the theme.
