The Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) felicitated the winners of ‘Steel Safety Awards-2015’ at a function organised in Sanyantra Bhavan. BSP Executive Director (Works) YK Degan gave away the awards. The ‘Steel Safety Awards 2015’ for the year 2014 were declared recently by the Joint Committee (JCSSI) constituted for safety, health and environment in steel industry.
Different zones (scheme-II) from Plant in group-A (Integrated Steel Plant) won the awards for zero fatal accidents, Coal Coke Chemical, Steel Melting Shops, Continuous Casting Shop and Rolling Mills of BSP. For the contract labourers (scheme-IV) BSP won the award for zero accidents in Group-A (Integrated Steel Plant).
PK Kaushik, Technician from ETl Department was adjudged best in Safety Poster Design Competition. Ganga Raju, Senior Technician from Mars-I; SK Parashar Chargeman from Sintering Plant-III and Harish Kumar from SlO/OCI, T&T won the first prizes respectively; RA Sharma, Chargeman from Coke Oven and CCD and Dhyanchand Sao, Operator, SMS-II won the second prizes.
In Safety Essay Competition (Non-Executive Category) HP Sharma, ACT of SMS-II won first prize and Jl Sahu, Section Officer from Personnel Department (CO&CCD) won the second prize.
Similarly, in Safety Calendar Design Competition, RA Sharma, Chargeman, CO&CCD; SK Bajad, Senior Technician from Plate Mill; V Sudhakar, Senior Technician from PP-I won first prize; Ganga Raju and Harish Kumar won second prize.C
