BSP@Excellence Seminar was organised by Business Excellence Department as part of the series of interactive knowledge sharing here.
“The seminar aims to spread awareness and have interactions on important organisational initiatives. This focus of this session was on the EFQM Excellence Model,SWOT and Creativity,’’ a press statement of the Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) informed.
BSP is the largest profit-making unit of the public sector Steel Authority of India ltd (SAIl).
At the beginning of the programme SPS Jaggi,GM (BE) welcomed the participants and explained the objective of the Seminar which was to communicate and bring ‘Quality and Excellence’ to the centrestage in all aspects of our working life.
He said all characteristics of an organisation except its work culture, its commitment and passion for excellence, can be copied by its competitors. An organisation can achieve sustainable results only by pursuing excellence in a holistic manner. He also emphasised that without an all pervading commitment to individual excellence there cannot be organisational excellence.
M. Ravi, GM (SMS-1) was the Chief Guest for
the occasion. In his address to the house on leadership, he dwelt at length on his
experiences of working in SMS-1 and the valuable lessons he learnt from the workplace. He enumerated them as–owning your
workplace, enjoying your
job, humility, being cool in times of crisis, thinking beyond boundaries and aiming high, planning meticulously to achieve those aims, analysing successes, and above all teamwork.
