By opting for a new technique, the Chimney painting work at Steel Melting Shop (SMS)-1 of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) here was started on Wednesday.
Necessary measures and standards are being followed while undertaking painting of Chimney with the new technique, a BSP press release informed.
The technique was deployed for the first time and it meets all security related standards. Before deploying this technique, it was fully examined and tested.
On the occasion, In-charge General Manager (M & U) Arun Bhandavkar, General Manager (Safety and Fire) T Pandeyaraja, GM (Steel Melting Shop-1) Kamlendu Das, GM (Mechanical) A K Dey and other senior officials of the plant were present.
Notably, Chimney painting works and other maintenance works are being performed under the supervision of EBSI Department, officials informed.
