Network failure is a normal problem with the Government-run telecom operator BSNl. Subscribers kept pressing their key pads but none of the numbers could get connected due to server error. People were not able to receive, nor make calls for the entire day on Sunday. The BSNl subscribers remained upset with the technical problems of the operator.
BSNl officials said that due to technical glitches in their main server, the subscribers had to face the problems throughout the day. The technical problems with BSNl network have been troubling the subscribers quite often. Many customers whose relatives were admitted to hospitals or in need of making an urgent call could not make calls due to the error but surprisingly balance was always deducted.
BSNl consumers have been regularly complaining about call drops, wrong account information, poor connectivity and technical glitches etc in the network but in vain. KT Jilani, a denizen of the town, complained, "I have often faced problems of abrupt ending of calls and poor network in BSNl mobile. Even my landline gave wrong information about pending bill payment some time back despite paying off my dues regularly. This was very embarrassing for me."
Another resident, Anup Behera, said he was not satisfied with his BSNl data card as his landline frequently went out of order due to technical problems. When the network resumed in evening, people complained of temporary disconnection in midst of talk. Call drops were also experienced by the subscribers. When troubled customers tried to contact the call centre of BSNl, they could not succeed. The call centre number 123 also remained unavailable. If the problems are not sorted out soon, the BSNl subscribers of the locality would be constrained to hold an agitation, warned Narayan Sahu, a businessman.
