Brijmohan: Easy win for BJP in Bhilai-Charoda polls

Brijmohan Agrawal, a senior Minister in the BJP Government, claimed on Saturday that the BJP would notch up an easy win in Bhilai-3 Charoda Municipal Corporation polls scheduled on December 27.

Agrawal ,who is a known as a perfect poll strategist for the BJP, has been appointed as party in-charge for the Bhilai-Charoda polls. BJP has fielded Chandrakanta Mandle as the party candidate for the mayoral post. Reports say that the BJP will struggle to manage success as the Opposition Congress has fielded a strong local face for mayoral post.

A few local BJP leaders have also filed papers as rebels after the party rejected their claims to run for mayoral post. Reports say that Agrawal is holding talks separately with the rebel candidates to withdraw papers in favour of the party’s official candidate.

“BJP is in power in the State for the past 13 years and has ushered in development in all the 27 districts, the development projects of Bhilai and Charoda areas have always been given top priority,’’ Agrawal remarked on Saturday in Bhilai while opening the party’s election office.

He further said, “Voters know very well that only the BJP is committed to development, I am sure the voters will ensure smooth victory for the BJP candidates in wards as well as for the mayoral post.”

Meanwhile, the Congress has claimed that voters would dump the BJP in Bhilai-3 Charoda Municipal Corporation polls as development has been stalled during the current BJP regime in the State.
