Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal has congratulated the farmers of the State for being conferred with the National ‘Krishi Karman Award’.
This is the result of hard work done by farmers in Chhattisgarh that we have got this award three times in a row, he said.
The Minister was speaking in Raipur on Friday after receiving award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day earlier at Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan.
In a statement, Agrawal said that Chhattisgarh is agriculture dominated State and will continuously keep on moving on the path of progress.“The award has also proved that the policies and scheme being run by State government are turning out to be beneficial for cultivators of the State. The officers and employees of the Agriculture Department are also worth praise,” he said.
“We are dedicated towards the development of farmers and farming in Chhattisgarh. The farmers here will able to carry out advanced farming of not only paddy but also other cash crops so that they may gain financial stability,” the Minster added. For achieving this target, the State government is running several schemes which have been utilized by farmers on ground, he said.
The Horticulture Department in Bastar is promoting ‘Chironji’, Cashew Nut and Tamarind farming while in areas spanning from Raigarh till Koriya, the Department is encouraging farmers to grow fruit bearing trees. This will yield positive results in coming days, he said.
