Brigadier Vignesh Mahanti (Sena Medal) on Monday took charge of the Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area (COSA) as Commander. He took charge from Brigadier Prashant Chauhan (Sena Medal) at a ceremony at Naya Raipur.
Brig Chauhan was instrumental in developing a remarkable relationship with the state government and in maintaining and promoting the footprint of the Armed Forces in both Chhattisgarh and Odisha, an official communication said.
Brig Mahanti's career spans over three decades with experience of numerous operational and administrative appointments, both in India and abroad.
The COSA headquarters at Naya Raipur is the apex office of the Indian Army in Chhattisgarh and Odisha dealing with administrative issues and to aid civil authorities when in need.
