Bramhanand denies Congress allegations

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Brahmanand Netam, who is            contesting the Bhanupratappur by-election in Chhattisgarh, on Sunday denied allegations by the Congress that he hid his criminal past while filing nomination papers.

The allegation by Chhattisgarh PCC President Mohan Markam is aimed at maligning his mage, said Netam. A defamation case will be filed against the Congress leaders, he told the media.

“I had never visited Jamshedpur in 2019 as claimed by the Congress. Even if a criminal case is registered against me, I would have duly filed it in my affidavit. I do not have any knowledge of any such criminal case,” he said.

He said the Congress wants to win the by-election by any means and is indulging in such acts of defaming the BJP and its candidate.

He said the Congress leaders should know that if any person is booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the accused is arrested immediately. As no arrest has been made. This shows there exists no case.
