The Temple Development Committee of the famous lord Mukteswar Temple at its meeting held in the temple premises decided to make adequate arrangements for the devotees for the ensuing “Maha Shivaratri” on March 7.
Unlike the previous years, the committee has decided to perform certain rituals like “ Mangala Arati”, “Rudraveeseka”, “Aastaprahar Namasankeertan” in the Sri Sri Namaratna Geeta Temple in the morning. Besides these rituals, Maha Rudraveeseka will be held at 10 pm night, followed by “Mahadeepa” at 12.04 am, Bedha Pareekrama at 12.35 am and Harihara Veta at 2.30 am.
Notably, the heritage temple of more than 100 years old is currently under renovation. Around 50,000 devotees of lord Shiva are expected to visit the temple in phases on the eve of Maha Shivaratri.
The committee also has decided to request the local administration to deploy adequate security in order to ensure safety of the devotees and for their hassle-free darshan.
Similar arrangements have also been made in the other old Shiva temples in the city like Pataleswar Temple in Utkal Cinema Road, Neelakantheswar temple, and Shiva temple in Kamapalli.
