Some Below Poverty line (BPl) families with single-point electricity connections were reported to have been handed over an exorbitant electricity bill of Rs2,520 each in Dondro Gram Panchayat.
The irked villagers handed over a memorandum to this effect to District Collector Reena Babasaheb Kangale and urged her to exempt them from paying the bill, as it was beyond their capacity to pay.The BPl beneficiaries are given 40 units of power free.
