Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir on Tuesday expressed faith over Yusuf Pathan who has not been able to perform up to the mark in the IPl-6 so far. According to Gambhir, he is not worried about the current form of Yusuf Pathan, but is thinking about the overall performance of team KKR.
Gambhir while talking to reporters at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday said, “There is a situation in the tournament when half of the players in the team are not able to perform and suddenly there can be a situation where those people not performing well can take the place of those performing well, and the entire team is backing Pathan and he hopefully will return to form soon.” To a query about performance of bowlers, the KKR captain said: “I think bowlers have become more smarter, there are far more different varieties and experience that you get to see now and they know now that batsmen will come hard on them; so they have evolved.” He said he was not concerned about the performance and experience of Delhi Daredevils in the last match and said ultimately whosoever plays well will win the match. Over inclusion of Brett lee in the playing eleven, Gambhir said, “We will go in only with the best performing ones.”
