A call made by an unidentified person that there was a bomb kept in the Mumbai-Howrah Express at Bilaspur Railway station made the Railway authorities carry out a rigorous search operation on Monday. The RPF and GRP staff checked the entire train but no suspicious object was found in the train.

A call was made on Railway’s enquiry number (139) by some unidentified person claiming that there was a bomb in the Mumbai-Howrah Mail. Immediately after the receiving the call, police personnel with sniffer dogs swung into action and intense search operation was carried out, informed SECR Senior Public Relation Officer, Bilaspur, Santosh Kumar. The entire exercise delayed the train by almost an hour, Kumar said.

Meanwhile, the entire search operation was kept secret from the passengers and they were informed that it was just a security exercise for the Railway police force personnel.
