On Chhattisgarh's Foundation Day, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday felicitated toppers of Class 10 and 12 in the Board exam at his official residence in Raipur.
He encouraged them by providing tablets, laptops and financial aid for their higher education. The laptops and tablets were provided by Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha, an official press release said.
At the event, 12th Board topper Tikesh Vaishnav of Mungeli was given a laptop and Rs 5 lakh for higher education. Class 10 topper Pragyan Thakur from Mungeli and 5th rank holder Virendra Tarak of Sivani-Abhanpur were provided tablets.
This year, due to Covid, the Foundation Day was celebrated in a simple manner at the official residence of the Chief Minister. No cultural programme with pomp and show was held nor were exhibitions and fairs organized.
