The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Sunday staged a demonstration here to demand complete prohibition in Chhattisgarh.
Thousands of BJYM activists assembled at the BTI ground and tried to march towards the Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhavan.
They raised slogans against the government and urged it to fulfill a commitment made by in the Congress election manifesto.
The police prevented them from reaching the Congress office.
As the police and demonstrators engaged in scuffles, some activists staged a sit-in protest at the site.
