Bharatiya Janata Party’s Women’s Wing Raipur District president, Minal Choubey said that the party’s workers have launched a campaign to eradicate jaundice from the State capital.

Accusing the Raipur city Mayor Kiranmayee Nayak who belongs to the Congress party for not taking care of the well being of the city’s residents,  Choubey said, the BJP and the State Government will not evade itself from their responsibility.

She said that BJP workers are not only creating awareness among the people, but are also distributing chlorine tablets and organising health camps in different parts of the city.

She said, as a part of this campaign the women wing of the party on Thursday launched a campaign in Aamapara Bazar area of the city and distributed chlorine tablets to the people. BJP workers are also telling people how to prevent jaundice.

The party’s women workers will launch the campaign until the jaundice is completely eradicated from the city.

Choubey said, apart from BJP’s Women’s Wing, a total of eight non government organisations (NGOs) have also been working in this field. They include–Marwari Yuva Manch Sanskar, Maharashtra Womens Wing, Nirbhaya Ekkosiya Sanstha, Swadeshi Mahila Mandal, VMidehi Manas mandali, Beti Bachao Manch and  Gayatri Mahila Mandal.

She said by not doing anything and by shying away from her responsibility, the Mayor  exposed her anti-people face to the people of Raipur.

It was for the first time in the history of the Raipur Municipal Corporation that a Mayor had been facing criticism and opposition from within, Choubey said.
