With a call to its workers to make the proposed Vikas Yatra a success, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday started the countdown for the Assembly polls due later this year, asking its cadres to sweat it out among masses without bothering about the happenings of the past if they want to make it a hat-trick of Government formation in Chhattisgarh.

Addressing the State working committee meeting, national general secretary of the party and Chhattisgarh in-charge Jagat Prakash Nadda warned party workers as well as leaders not to show any slackness in preparations for the ensuing polls as the coming time was very crucial for them.

He cautioned leaders to observe restraint in public domain and instead concentrate on taking the achievements of the BJP Government of the past nine years to public. Asking the party cadre to focus on booth level preparations, Nadda exhorted State party leaders to assess the ground realities, only then success could be assured. Terming the coming time very crucial for the party, Nadda said besides reviewing the success of the programmes set in the last working committee meeting, this is also the time for self-introspection.

Party State president Ramsewak Paikra in his presidential address told the party men that by organising a historical youth convention in the state capital the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha has set an example whereas Mahila Morcha's dharna, demonstration against UPA Government's wrong policies, resulting in high inflation was remarkable. Further, through Gaon-Gaon Chalo, Ghar-Ghar Chalo drive party workers are taking the achievements of the State Government to people besides exposing the corruption and misrule of the Central government, Paikra said.

He said that State Government's proposed Vikas Yatra is an important link to get closer to the masses and every one of us would think of making it a success instead of bothering about Congress' Parivartan Yatra which is nothing more than a flop show. He told the party leaders to work labouriously for the next six months without any mistake to achieve the goal of making Mission 2013 a success.

In the meeting, strategy related to Vikas Yatra, which is commencing from May 6, were discussed in details and leaders were asked to make it a grand success. Report cards of a number of leaders, mainly of underperforming ministers, were also reportedly discussed in the meeting and they were asked to improve their performance unless it is too late. Besides, status of programmes set in the last working committee meet was also taken up in the meeting which was attended by majority of working committee members, including Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, his Cabinet colleagues and Durg MP Saroj Pandey besides Nadda and Saudan Singh.
