Hundreds of BJP workers from the 66 slums of the city have participated in the City BJP Jhuggi-Jhoppdi Prakosht convention, held at the party office here on Sunday. Minister Hemchand Yadav was the chief guest of the function.
On the occasion Hemchand Yadav said that in his view, slum dwellers were the most alert and sensible, as they take interest and participate in the elections more than
others. In 10 years, the BJP has done the work for the uplift of the poor, which the Congress could not do in the last 57 years, he added.
The Congress ruled the country for 57 years, but it neither think about giving foodgrain at ` 1 or 2 to the poor, nor has concern for their treatment. The State BJP Government is the only one that has made policies and schemes, making person of the last row of the society as its base, because of which the living standard of the poor in the State has been improved fast, he added.
He said that all the beneficiary-oriented schemes implemented by the State BJP Government for the poor has become an eyesore for the Congress and added that to continue these popular schemes in the State, it would be necessary that the BJP has to come to power.
District BJP president Mahavir lodha said that the facelift of the district hospital, in which the poor take their treatment, was done because of the continuous efforts of Minister Hemchand Yadav.
In the function, the former office-bearers of the BJP Jhuggi-Jhoppdi Prakosht were felicitated and the Minister honoured them by presenting citation and shawl.
