BJP Kisan Morcha in a strategic move has decided to pressurize state government to ensure payment of two years bonus to the farmers as promised, on which ruling Congress government is silent.
In a meeting of Morcha office bearers at BJP division office, Ekatma Parisar, on Tuesday in presence of organisation general secretary Pawan Sai and Morcha in-charge Rampratap Singh, the leaders said the Congress is adopting dilly-dallying attitude on procurement of paddy at Rs 2500 per quintal and fulfilling all other promises made to state farmers.
BJP Kisan Morcha state president Poonam Chandrakar said now the Congress government is showing its real face where it has lured farmers and now trying to wriggle out without fulfilling the promises it made.
The Congress had been continuously raising the issue of two-year bonus payment to farmers when it was in opposition, and now it’s silent after coming to power, he added. The same party used to raise issue of procurement of paddy should commence the same from October 15 every year, the BJP leader said pointing out that the government first announced November 15 as the date of procurement and then extended it to December 1. The farmers want a reply on it, BJP leader said.
On loan waiver, he said several farmers of the state have not received the NOC of bank loan waiver till date. Now a conspiracy is underway to procure around 10 quintal per acre from the farmers.
BJP leader said BJP Kisan Morcha will commence state-wide agitation, if the farmers’ rights are crushed by the state government and promises are not fulfilled.
