Chief Minister Raman Singh has said that his party will take action against former Minister and sitting MlA from Masturi Assembly constituency Dr Krishnamurthy Bandhi for his alleged role in death of a woman who succumbed to grievous burn injuries in a hospital in Bilaspur last week.
Incidentally, Bandhi is seeking re-election on a BJP ticket from Masturi Assembly constituency in Bilaspur district. 40-year-old woman Serolina Masih was found with third degree burns outside the residence of retired Judge RR Bhardwaj who is a close associate of Bandhi. Masih in her dying statement had named Bhardwaj and others before a Magistrate of being allegedly involved in the crime. Both Bhardwaj and his son Dev have been detained by the police for questioning.
The Chief Minister while replying to a specific query in a Press conference here on Sunday whether BJP is contemplating action against Bandhi, said “Certainly, Dr Krishnamurthy Bandhi is a doctor and MlA and the step was inappropriate from the political point of view.”
