Chhattisgarh BJP state president Vikram Usendi termed the proposed agitation of Congress party before the residences and offices of the BJP MPs as ‘offensive act’, by those “who are themselves duping the farmers and people of the state.”
In a statement, he said that the Congress leaders are indulging in politics by misleading the people. He said government instead of skirting the issue, should commence the procurement of paddy from the farmers. BJP state president said the Congress itself before it’s the then president Rahul Gandhi, while releasing the election manifesto and taking pledge by taking ‘Ganga Jal’ in hand, had claimed that for procurement of paddy from farmers of the state it would arrange funds. Even the Congress manifesto committee convenor T S Singdeo had given a similar statement but why now they have taken backseat and giving different statements.
He said Chief Minister is spreading lies that the Centre is responsible for non-procurement of paddy, which cannot be accepted at any condition. The BJP will teach the Congress as to how agitations are being staged if farmers are duped, he warned.
